In a shocking news story coming out of Amherst, NY, police were called to the scene at Shenanigans Bar on Niagara Falls Boulevard yesterday, as former Bills Coach and Buffalo Radio personality Chuck "Coach" Dickerson was found laying motionless.
Apparently, Coach was mauled by a panther.
There have been no arrests in the case as of yet, but the WGR Panther is a person of interest in the case, and is wanted for questioning.
BSN contacted long time Olde Time WGR Sports announcer Greg Buck in regards to the incident. "This certainly was a wild and crazy situation. We hope that our young friend Coach Dickerson heals up well rom this simply horrific event. Post Game coming up."
Police Chief Frank Clark was interviewed, but essentially just yelled into the camera and didn't make any sense. It did sound enthusiastic however, and we sure left motivated.
The WGR Panther is not the first "Animal Personality" on air at WGR 550, nor is he/she the only one currently on the payroll.
The WGR Panther replaced The WGR Pterodactyl in late 2008. Reasons were cited by WGR for the termination of Pterodactyl were simply noted as "The silent P was really becoming a problem, as no one spelled his name correctly."
Also on air weekly is "The Bulldog", a very benign character that loves music and speaks fluent English.
Another WGR official stated that they have no plans to replace The WGR Panther until the investigation is concluded, mostly because they are afraid of being attacked by its ferocious fangs.
